Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need water?
Nope! I carry 75 gallons of fresh water in the van. There is also a grey water tank so I don't dump any dirty water at your house.
Do you need to plug into my house?
No, I have a lithium battery system that powers all of my tools efficently.
Do you work in the winter/rain/storms?
If the roads are not drivable, I will have to reschedule for safety.
Does my dog or cat need to be vaccinated?
Yes, this could mean a titer test or vaccination records. I require all pets to have full immunity against commonly spread diseases by being current on their core vaccines and bordetella even if boosters are not apart of your regimen (I get it!)
What forms of payment do you take?
All major credit cards(+4%), debit card or cash
Do I need to be home?
You will need to be present for the first appointment - After that, I do offer Key Holder Services. More info in service agreement
Do you offer a flea dip/bath?
I do not. NO fleas in the van. You must disclose ahead of time if you believe your pet may have fleas, after recieving treatment from your vet we can schedule at the end of the day to limit expsoure. Animals with excessive fleas may be refused service until the problem is cleared up. The client will be bill a visit charge at the time of their rescheduled groom. No future services will be provided until the fee is paid. If your pet does have live fleas at the time of service, I keep products in stock to bathe and deflea to the best of ability but I cannot guarantee they will all be gone. Highly recommend a monthly preventative from your vet. If fleas are discovered without disclosure, extra charges will total the amount of all lost appointments plus $200 sanitation fee to make sure we aren't speading fleas to other pets. Do you groom aggressive or hard to handle pets?
Yes. I cannot guarantee they will be perfect but I will try my best. I have been known to be able to groom difficult dogs that have been "kicked out" of other salons. I love teaching them there is nothing to be afraid of. Sometimes it takes a few routine, consistant appointments but I can normally improve their behavior over time. Sometimes I can't, and in that case you will need to consult your vet for intervention.
Are you insured?
This actually is not a frequently asked question but it should be! I am fully insured if anything were to happen to your pet while in my care. I am always super careful but anything can happen while working with animals.
What if I must cancel my appointment?
Life happens and we understand. However, cancellations and rescheduling require at minimum a 48-hour notice, failure to do so will result in forfeiting $50 deposit and/or pre-payment required for next scheduling.
Do you groom all year long?
Yes! The mobile salon is climate controlled: heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer.
Where do you get the water and power to groom my pet?
We use our own water tank and battery power to heat the water to groom your pet. We do NOT need to plug into your home’s electricity. Our clients don’t have to supply anything–just your pet! TTGroomery has a 75 gallon freshwater tank and a grey water tank. We also have a water heater, air conditioning and heat. We are a full-service pet salon on wheels.
How do I maintain my dogs coat between grooms?
The best way to maintain your dogs coat between grooms is to brush it every couple of days. After brushing, it is important to make sure that you get all the way to the skin. The coat type, as well as the length will help you determine how often this needs to be done. Once the hair is severely matted, shaving the coat off is the only humane remedy.
Why is your exact price not online?
We want to make sure your animal is getting the highest quality service to look their best. Different breeds, coats, conditions, temperament, expected length of groom, and other factors contribute to the pricing. As such we do list a price range for different packages. Each groom is unique, and we can provide you with an estimate at the time of booking. Upon inspection of your pet, we will provide you with a final estimate.
Can I stay with my pet in the van?
Sadly as much as your pet might love to have you in there, it is an insurance liability for us. But we would be happy to show you our vehicle before grooming your pet.
Ideal grooming frequency for appointments?
4 week routine visits lead to the happiest, safest grooms as fur is well maintained and the dogs know what to expect! The cainine hair cycle is between 21-28 days,if you truly want to cut back on furry tumbleweeds around your home then monthly visits are a necessity.
